{"id":1056,"date":"2017-11-01T17:00:00","date_gmt":"2017-11-01T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cmni.co.uk\/?p=1056"},"modified":"2017-11-01T17:00:00","modified_gmt":"2017-11-01T17:00:00","slug":"charlie-worsham","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cmni.co.uk\/index.php\/2017\/11\/01\/charlie-worsham\/","title":{"rendered":"Telling the truth and following your heart: In Conversation with Charlie Worsham"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We recently had a chat with singer-songwriter Charlie Worsham, as he gets ready to embark on a European tour with Lucie Silvas and visit Belfast on November 19<sup>th<\/sup> \u2013 see what he had to say about his new album, European fans and his new book below!<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>After releasing his second studio Album, \u201c<em>Beginning of Things<\/em>\u201d, Charlie Worsham is out on a mission \u2013 to tell the truth, write great songs and follow his heart.<\/p>\n<p>When we asked him what the main inspiration was for this new record, he said that it was \u201c<strong><em>always to try and figure out what the truth is, and tell it<\/em><\/strong>\u201d. Indeed, he says that when writing songs, he believes that \u201c<strong><em>songs need to be snuck up on, if an idea knows that you\u2019re coming for it, it\u2019ll escape<\/em><\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Later this month, Charlie will be releasing his new book \u201c<em>Follow Your Heart<\/em>\u201d, in aid of his Follow Your Heart Arts Programme in his hometown, giving kids the chance to obtain a musical education. Indeed, if he hadn\u2019t been a touring singer-songwriter, he would have lived to have been the chef Anthony Bourdain, as he loves travelling so much.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201c<strong><em>I love the culture, history, people, beer, food, I love all of it!<\/em><\/strong>\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>When we tested Charlie\u2019s knowledge of Northern Ireland, he knew that the word \u201c<em>craic<\/em>\u201d meant good conversation, but he was stumped when we asked him what a \u201c<em>gravy ring<\/em>\u201d was.
