Following the success around her recent solo single ‘Why I Need You’ which has been on various country radio playlists across the UK and had nearly 100k video views to date, London-based Irish singer\/songwriter\u00a0Megan O’Neill<\/strong>\u00a0has today released another track from her forthcoming album, the upbeat country-leaning song\u00a0‘Ghost of You’<\/strong>. Recorded in Nashville earlier this year, Megan\u00a0describes the song as “one of those ones that just kind of flowed out – it was effortless to write in some ways but then of course, when editing, you can spend hours changing one lyric here and another one there! It’s about loved ones lost but their memories live on as part of you. One part of you wishes you could let them go\u00a0–\u00a0let those memories go\u00a0–\u00a0and yet another part of you is thankful that you still have them with you in some spiritual way.”<\/p>\n

\"PromoWith a sold-out first show of the year in Camden next week, Megan returns to the stage with her full band on February 10th for a full-band headline show at Under The Bridge, London.<\/p>\n

Originally from Co. Kildare, Ireland,\u00a0Megan O’Neill<\/strong>\u00a0is one of the UK’s most exciting Country\/Americana artists, and has shared stages with\u00a0Miranda Lambert<\/strong>,\u00a0Kip Moore<\/strong>, and\u00a0American Young<\/strong>\u00a0among many others. A long-time musician and songwriter, Megan spent time \u00a0living in Nashville before moving to London, where she is now based. Her debut EP\u00a0‘Coming Home’<\/em>\u00a0was released in May 2015, reaching #1 in the Irish country charts and receiving critical acclaim across the UK.<\/div>\n

In 2016, Decca Records released her single ‘Can’t Put a Price on That’, a collaboration with\u00a0Ben Earle<\/strong>\u00a0of The Shires; and in February 2017 she followed this with the independent release of her mini-album with six-piece band ‘Megan and the Common Threads’. The project was recorded at\u00a0Mark Knopfler<\/strong>‘s British Grove Studios and produced by the legendary\u00a0Guy Fletcher<\/strong>\u00a0(Dire Straits, Roxy Music, Mark Knopfler).<\/p>\n

Megan has had songs featured on hit TV Show Nashville, appeared multiple times at C2C Festival at London’s O2 Arena; performed in LA at\u00a0JJ Abrams<\/strong>‘ private A-list Oscar Wilde party; and played many festivals including Nashville Meets London Festival and Harvest Festival in Ireland, alongside acts like\u00a0Dan + Shay, Courtney Marie Andrews<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Catherine McGrath<\/strong>. In February 2017, Megan was recognised as one of the top Americana songwriters in the UK, performing as part of the the Americana Music Awards (AMA-UK) in London.<\/p>\n

Regularly travelling to the US for tour dates, recording and songwriting sessions, Megan has played the prestigious Bluebird Caf\u00e9 in Nashville three times to date and continues to collaborate with the top writers and musicians between the UK, Ireland and the US. Live radio appearances and performances have included BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio London with Gaby Roslin, 2fm, Dublin City FM, Today FM with Ian Dempsey, BBC Radio Wales, Marie Crichton’s Country Show on BBC, Nevis Radio, Amazing Radio, Chris Country and more.<\/p>\n

Brand new single ‘Ghost of You’ is the follow up to her 2017 solo single ‘Why I Need You’, and the second track to be released from a forthcoming full-length solo album.
