{"id":1911,"date":"2019-01-07T07:55:42","date_gmt":"2019-01-07T07:55:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cmni.co.uk\/?p=1911"},"modified":"2019-01-07T07:55:42","modified_gmt":"2019-01-07T07:55:42","slug":"brad-paisley-humility-at-his-very-core","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cmni.co.uk\/index.php\/2019\/01\/07\/brad-paisley-humility-at-his-very-core\/","title":{"rendered":"Brad Paisley &#8211; Humility at his very core"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cEvery night when I put Brad to bed, I would say, \u2018Let\u2019s pray, please make this world a better place in any way you can,&#8217;\u201d Brad Paisley\u2019s mother Sandy\u00a0told American based newspaper The\u00a0<em>Tennessean<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Then there were the actions.<\/p>\n<p>Sandy and Doug Paisley made sure their son gave plenty of his time and talent to church picnics, nursing homes and hospitals while he was growing up in Glen Dale, West Virginia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know what it was about Brad, but I felt he had a purpose,\u201d Paisley \u2019s mother said. \u201cThere was a reason he was given this talent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And then there was the moment that his higher purpose all became clear for\u00a0Brad Paisley. It happened when he was singing \u201cYou Are My Sunshine\u201d with an elderly patient who was almost completely non verbal. \u201cShe sings with me, every word \u2014 \u2018You make me happy when skies are gray\u2019 \u2014 sort of on pitch. And that was it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMusic became something that felt like it had the power to heal people. It had the power to brighten someone\u2019s day,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m emotionally touched. I\u2019m baffled, but I\u2019m emotionally touched. I\u2019m not crying, but my mother is reduced to a puddle.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou want to find other opportunities to make someone\u2019s day. That was the moment that made me realize what I do can be very good for people if I use it the right way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Music is the closest thing, Paisley added, that we have to real magic.<\/p>\n<p>And now that he\u2019s grown and has a family of his own, it\u2019s his turn to encourage his sons how to do good things with the gifts they have.
