The 10-song set was produced by the band and Stewart Myers and features appearances by the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, singer-songwriter Maggie Antone, fiddler Philip Bowen, and guitarist Cole Chafin. Met with critical acclaim,\u00a0No Depression\u00a0<\/em>said\u00a0“Leavin’ This Holler is a vital release, especially today. When it feels like we’re all just searching for a little light in the dark, 49 Winchester illuminates something akin to home”<\/em>\u00a0while\u00a0Glide Magazine<\/em>\u00a0said\u00a0“Leavin’ This Holler shows they have no intention of slowing down.”\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Leavin’ This Holler<\/em>\u00a0is the follow up to their New West debut\u00a0Fortune Favors the Bold<\/em>. Met with overwhelming critical acclaim,\u00a0Rolling Stone<\/em>\u00a0called them “Country Music’s Buzziest of Buzz Bands,” and also named it one of the “25 Best Country and Americana Albums of 2022.”\u00a0Bandcamp<\/em>\u00a0named\u00a0Fortune Favors the Bold\u00a0<\/em>one of the “Best Country Records of 2022,” as did\u00a0No Depression<\/em>,\u00a0Holler<\/em>,\u00a0PopMatters<\/em>,\u00a0Whiskey Riff<\/em>,\u00a0WMOT<\/em>, and more. On Friday, 49 Winchester released the video for “Leavin’ This Holler<\/a>,” featuring Maggie Antone. Frontman Isaac Gibson said, “This video project was a lot of fun for us. The vibes we were able to conjure up really suit the song. ‘Leavin’ This Holler’ feels like a breakup song, but it’s about the act of letting go and how hard it can be to leave places and faces that you know and love to find something greater. It always felt like the emotional heart of the record, which is part of why it wound up being the title cut, and Maggie’s part in that is huge. Her harmonies are just what the song needed. She knocked it out of the park for the video shoot, and was great to work with as always.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last October, while standing on stage in front of 20,000 people at London’s 02 Arena, it dawned on Gibson that on the same day, exactly 10 years ago, he formed his rising alt-country band. “There’s been nothing in my life that’s ever lasted a decade,” he says. “We had just gotten out of high school when we played our first show \u2014 10 years later, we’re on the road in the UK and Europe with Luke Combs.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gibson felt it was a moment where he could honestly reflect on the hard-earned, unrelenting determination and grit within the band that’s brought them to this current juncture of increasing notoriety. “It’s a testament to the uncommon fact that we’re musicians from a very specific place in the world,”<\/em> Gibson says. “And it’s a testament to viewing each other more as family than as friends.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hailing from Castlewood, Virginia (population: 1,122) in Southern Appalachia \u2014 a place where opportunity seldom knocks \u2014 49 Winchester came to fruition when Gibson, his childhood best friend, Chase Chafin, and his hometown crony, guitarist Bus Shelton, decided to step off the front porch (on Winchester Street) and take their music to whatever stage would have them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Captured in a handful of studios around the country whenever there was a rare moment between relentless touring schedules, the album has 49 Winchester’s signature sound of rollicking country and searing rock music, but with a matured approach this go-around. Leavin’ This Holler<\/em> offers up a more focused sense of self, a new bountiful level of intent and purpose. Gibson says, “We wanted to explore every possible sound we could on this record. No stone left unturned sonically \u2014 we got it exactly where we wanted it.” <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
