It has been confirmed by various sources that Garth Brooks will play three outdoor gigs in Ireland in 2018.

Inside information from a source close to Garth Brooks’ camp confirmed last night that the country music superstar has provisionally agreed to play three date’s across Ireland next summer.

He will play one date in Dublin, one in Limerick and one in Cork, most likely in the newly refurbished Pairc Ui Chaoimh.

The three shows will be played in three stadiums and the set list for his Irish appearances in 2014 could be used.

During the summer of 2014, hundreds of thousands of Garth fans in these parts were left disappointed after he decided not to put on any shows in Ireland when Dublin City Council agreed to license only three of five scheduled (and sold-out) concerts.

The decision was made when the resident’s association for Croke Park objected to any more than three of the five dates that were sold.

‘Garth has always had a love affair with Ireland and his legions of country music fans’, said the well-placed source.

‘The gigs being cancelled in 2014 was a major blow for him and he has always wanted to come and pay. He has been on an American and world tour since the 2014 debacle and always wanted to return to play to his Irish fans. He was very impressed with the Bruce Springsteen regional tour which went around Ireland and feels that this is the best way to come back to Ireland. It is still in the very early stages of planning and the venues have yet to be booked. But Garth has provisional agreed to come back to Ireland.’

The news will be greatly received by the 400,000 or so fans who were left devastated by the cancellations three years ago.
