- On this day December 28, 1965Johnny Cash pleaded guilty to drug possession in El Paso, Texas, where he was arrested in October with over 1,000 pills. A related newspaper photo stated the Ku Klux Klan was to boycott Cash concerts under the misguided premise that Cash's wife was black.
