Celebrated Third Album With Sold-Out Hometown Headline Debut At Ryman Auditorium

Returning To The UK And Europe Next Week

Warner Music Nashville singer-songwriter Chase Matthew has quickly emerged as one of Country music’s most in-demand artists. On Friday (21/2), he put his bold creative vision on full display with the delivery of his most accomplished project yet: the thrilling and highly personal third studio album, CHASEListen here.

As Matthew sees it, when an artist releases a self-titled LP, it’s the purest distillation of who they are. “This album is a perfect representation of me, which is why I named it CHASE,” he explains. “My life is a chase. My goals are a chase. It’s a full-circle moment.”

With a no-holds-barred approach over a nuanced, undeniable 13-track collection, the charismatic hitmaker further adds, “I wanted to have a hand in this project like I’ve never done in the past.” To that end, he co-wrote nine of the songs including the poignant, solo-written and co-produced ‘WAITING ON YOU TO CALL’. In addition to a heavy dose of driving songs to party-starters, the musician dug deep this go-round during the writing process to also pen some of his vulnerable material to date. From the revved-up power ballad ‘YOU TURN’ – which he just dropped a Natalie Simmons-directed adjoining music video (watch here) – to ‘HEART HALF EMPTY’, a stunning duet with Lauren Alaina, which Matthew says he’s more “fired up” about than anything he’s released in recent memory.

Marking early releases with ‘DRIVES MY TRUCK’, ‘MISSIN’ ME MISSIN’ YOU’, and ‘BACKROADS OF MY MIND’, another album standout is ‘I DON’T WANNA KNOW’. Keeping his heart in the dark on the hard-hitting anthem, Matthew blacks out the truth of an ex moving on. Written by Victor Williams, Fraser Churchill, Danny Majić, and Willie Morrison, the tormented Trap-Country banger pushes Matthew to the limits of Country’s cutting edge. Also produced by Majić, the sleek slap track showcases Matthew’s rumbling vocal flow over thick, thumping digital beats and atmospheric, effects-laden guitars, for a fearless mix of timeless heartbreak and Hip-Hop swagger. But while the Tennessee native projects sonic self-assurance, lyrically, he begs to be spared from the romantic pain that no Jack or Copenhagen buzz can numb.
