Under the glow of the Grand Ole Opry’s historic circle, rising country artist Gareth made his long-awaited Opry debut on Tuesday night, November 4th, delivering a moving performance that gave a nod to his traditional country upbringing. He was surprised with an invitation personally delivered by Brett Young (available to view here) and soon enough, the Gareth who visited the Opry back in 2022 on vacation was making his debut.
The Nashville-based singer-songwriter took the stage to roaring applause, performing a set that included a heartfelt hometown song and a poignant new song from his recent project Bluebird. The crowd’s energy was electric as Gareth’s voice filled the storied venue, capturing both the ache and hope at the heart of his songwriting. And the best part – his whole family flew from Ireland to be in the audience.
“When I found out I was playing the Opry, my biggest worry was that my grandpa couldn’t make it because it’s been a dream of his to see me play this stage. Just last week he got medically cleared and I’m very happy to say my grandpa is here in the crowd tonight,” said Gareth.
The debut marks a major milestone for the breakout artist, whose music has steadily built momentum across streaming platforms and country radio. His most recent single has sparked growing attention from both fans and critics for its authenticity and emotional depth — qualities that were on full display at the Opry.

Gareth will return to the UK and Ireland in December for a number of headline dates, including a major show at Belfast’s Ulster Hall and his first-ever hometown performance in Castlederg – before heading to Australia in March 2026 for his debut tour down under.
