Jason Aldean remembers Route 91 a year on

On Monday past (1st October)  the country music community joined Route 91 survivors including Jason Aldean in honoring the 58 victims who lost their lives in the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history a year ago in Las Vegas. Thousands gathered at the Clark County Government Amphitheater for a Sunrise Remembrance Ceremony that hosted a 58-second moment of silence and the release of 58 doves.

Carrie Underwood’s ‘Cry Pretty’ album makes Country Music history

Carrie Underwood‘s new album, Cry Pretty, has debuted at the top of  Billboard’s Top 200 Album chart yesterday.  The collection is the biggest all-genre debut by a female in 2018, topping Cardi B’s Invasion of Privacy(April 6, 2018). The album debuted at No. 1 on both the Billboard 200 and Top Country Album Charts with 265,654 equivalent album units, making Underwood the only woman in history to land four country albums at the top of the all-genre Billboard 200 chart. The critically-acclaimed album is the best-selling Country album debut of 2018, as well as the biggest Country album debut since August 7, 2015 (Luke Bryan’s Kill The Lights) and the biggest female Country album debut since October 22, 2012 (Taylor Swift’s 2012 Red).

CMNI are Nashville bound

Tomorrow sees some of the CMNI team head off to Music City USA, Nashville, Tennessee. We’re very much excited and are currently in the process of trying to set up some interviews when we’re over there. Nashville is the home of country music and the home of the ‘Grand Ole Opry’ – the show that made country music famous. It’s the worlds longest running radio show, celebrating 92 years of consecutive Saturday night broadcasts.

Lady Antbellum part with Capitol Nashville to sign with BMLG

Lady Antebellum are now part of the Big Machine Label Group family. The country trio announced their signing with BMLG on Tuesday (Sept. 4).
Lady Antebellum were previously signed to Capitol Records Nashville, part of the Universal Music Group family. Dave Haywood, Charles Kelley and Hillary Scott signed with Capitol Nashville in July of 2007. They released six full-length studio albums, as well as one Christmas record and two EPs, with the label.
