Ever since she made her Grand Ole Opry debut on Valentine’s Day in 2015, Kelsea Ballerini, 25, has been absolutely crushing it.

A long list of country stars got some very, very good news first thing on Tuesday morning (Aug. 28) when the CMA Awards nominations were announced.
And some took to social media immediately to share the news with their fans, and share how honored they were just to be nominated. Some of the first artists to put their gratitude into words on Twitter were Luke Bryan, Midland, Thomas Rhett, Old Dominion, Little Big Town, Maddie & Tae, Kelsea Ballerini, Florida Georgia Line, Lady Antebellum, Sugarland and more.
Nashville has become a must-see international destination because of groundbreaking shows like CMT’s Nashville and concert events like CMA Fest. Everywhere downtown during the 47th annual event in June was packed with fans from all over the world including all 50 states and 36 foreign countries. Concert magic from the 2018 concerts will be showcased during a three-hour concert special airing Wednesday (Aug. 8) with hosts Kelsea Ballerini and Thomas Rhett.
In addition to the performances they both delivered during the 2018 CMA Music Festival in June, Thomas Rhett and Kelsea Ballerini are hosting a TV special featuring performances from the event for the second year in a row. On Aug. 8, CMA Fest 2018 highlights will be broadcast during a special televised event, giving festival attendees, fans who couldn’t make it and the hosts themselves the chance to live out the experience one more time.
In times of trouble these days, singers and songwriters always seem to have each other’s backs. Across genres and generations, the worst of times tend to bring out the best in artists.
And that’s what has happened this week, as word spread of pop star Demi Lovato’s apparent drug overdose on Tuesday (July 24). Little Big Town are set to host the event live from Nashville on June 6 at 8 p.m. ET. Jason Aldean, Florida Georgia Line and Carrie Underwood lead the nominees with an impressive four nominations each.
