As of last year we started listing our Podcasts on Apple’s iTunes platform. CMNI’s podcasts always been available on the Country Music NI website to stream and download, but the step was also taken in 2018 to make them more accessible, especially when listening on portable devices.

With just weeks to to to Christmas, Santa will come early to some mega country fans as the folks down at Farmers Bash HQ spread a little cheer! Tomorrow (Tuesday 20th Nov) marks the day when we will find the details of the launch regarding who will be hitting the stage at Belfast’s SSE arena next October.
Just seven days to go and a very limited amount of seated tickets left, Farmers Bash 2018 is set to be even bigger than last year! With a special lineup of Ireland’s best country stars and even the Rednex (Cotton Eyed Joe) joining in on the fun, if you’re a local country fan, it’s a night not to be missed. Tomorrow sees some of the CMNI team head off to Music City USA, Nashville, Tennessee. Nashville is the home of country music and the home of the ‘Grand Ole Opry’ – the show that made country music famous. It’s the worlds longest running radio show, celebrating 92 years of consecutive Saturday night broadcasts.
With around three weeks until Steve Earle rolls his tour bus into Belfast, we take a look at whats inspired him, where he has come from and take a look at his most recent work. If you ever had any doubt about where Steve Earle’s musical roots are planted, his new collection, So You Wannabe an Outlaw, makes it perfectly plain. “There’s nothing ‘retro’ about this record,” he states, “I’m just acknowledging where I’m coming from.” So You Wannabe an Outlaw is the first recording he has made in Austin, Texas. Earle has lived in New York City for the past decade but he acknowledges, “Look, I’m always gonna be a Texan, no matter what I do. And I’m always going to be somebody who learned their craft in Nashville. It’s who I am.”
Top selling British Country act of all time; The Shires have announced that they are to support Shania Twain on her UK and Ireland tour later this year. The news comes hot off the heels of their third album release last month and Ben having just became a father for a second time.

Having played over 2,500 shows in his fifteen-year career as an independent artist, with nearly half a million headline tickets sold in the last 18 months, Watson has made it a priority to tour internationally and visit fans in the UK, Europe and worldwide since his previous record. We’d be keen to see him back in Ireland!
